A little about Dean Wolfe

Ontario-born Wolfe has played on stages in Canada and the USA in hundreds of performances, both as a flashy guitar slinging pop-rock band member and as a more granola-esque solo singer/songwriter.  He recently hosted open mic nights in a Victoria Cafe for six months.

His life as prolific songwriter started at age 10 on the piano in St. Catharines, but by age 12 he realized his main musical life-companion would have only 6 strings; but infinitely more possibilities for self-expression.  His favorite guitar teacher was - by happy accident - a professional jazz guitarist. Wolfe learned early to apply these teachings to rock music.

Wolfe would take cello for 2 years in high school and has added these soulfully sweet sounds to his CDs, as well as hitting Toronto stages as a multi-instrumentalist for other alternative rock bands.

In 2014, finding himself bored of doing just the singer/songwriter thing he recalled his early love of jazz fusion and decided to follow through and realize his unrecognized ambitions, following the likes of hero Pat Metheny. Only self-doubt had squelched his inner jazz ambitions- or maybe the distraction of pop rock fame pulled him from such a course as he hit the road at age 18 to be a full time musician.

So in spring of 2014 Wolfe placed an ad on Craigslist and discovered a group of Vancouver Island musicians already reaching for the same goal - minus the 'right' guitarist.  nFuze was born.

In 2014 Wolfe composed a solo CD of instrumental progressive fusion jazz titled  'Profusion'. Some of the material is being reinterpreted by the other agile creative musicians of nFuze.

Dean still does occasional appearences as a solo singer/songwriter, as well as commercial music work in multiple genres, and producing/engineering recordings for local Vancouver Island musicians.
